The High Mountain Institute is a semester school for high school students in Leadville, Colorado that prides itself on rigorous academics, building community, and teaching mountain skills. I have been the humanities faculty member and curriculum developer for the Summer Term since 2018.
In 2019, as the Writing Program Administrator the Summer Term, I redesigned the curriculum to more perfectly align with the school’s mission and academic goals by shifting the humanities curriculum to focus on college-level personal essay writing. You can see the new curriculum below.
